Changing Tides

Over a year ago I started working on Hail. The tragic reality is, I’m just 8400 words in, and haven’t been able to do what I should have done, what I had planned to do, in that 1+ year timeline. This is disappointing to me, but also to my readers. Here comes the news, though. Major changes have been happening in my life, and good things overall!

Last week I put in notice to my current job of 5.5 years that I was leaving, I have accepted a new opportunity with another company. What does that mean, how is that good? Doesn’t a new job mean more heavy lifting, front end especially? Yes, but, new job is half day every Friday! That means every Friday, I will have 4 hours, minimum, to myself, and I can WRITE! I’m working out a schedule for myself on how to get this book written, and get it published ASAP. It’s been a rough year, over the past year. To make it to this point, where things are finally falling into place and truly improving, gives me such hope!

Nothing will ever be easy, but it there is always opportunity for improvement, and I am seeing that more clearly every day. Beyond changes in work life, I will be following up with my neurologist soon enough. MRI on Monday, blood work completed, praying for all positive and/or at least some answers. There is a song that has been playing in my head today that makes me laugh, in an ironic manner. Time Marches On by Tracy Lawrence.

I’m a Texas woman, love me my country music – 80’s & 90’s are my favorite. Have a wonderful day everyone, I’ll be getting this book in order and out the door before you know it!

In a months time

Everything happens for a reason, I firmly believe that. The past month (and a half) has proven a difficult time. This weekend hit me with some unexpected surprises that will be impacting when, and how, I can get things done. Especially for my last book, Hail. I’m working through changes at the moment to mitigate these issues, praying I can find a solution in a timely manner. I am incredibly impatient with these types of matters – I know this. It’s frustrating to work so hard and end up with only more loose ends to tie up, constantly watching things unravel.

Yet, as Walt Disney is quoted as saying, “Keep Moving Forward!” (Thank you, Meet the Robinson’s – one of my Fave Disney movies that makes me cry every time <3_<3)! I don’t know how, but I WILL figure it out. With time, the outside factors that have crushed me will dissipate. Hopefully. Praying you lovely reader’s are too terribly disappointed with me, but as I said, everything happens for a reason, and I see the very good reasons why things have not worked out as planned with this last book and timeline. Praying the decisions I have to make in the short-term are the correct ones. Could use a reduction in the stress department.

The silence is deafening…

Pain arises in so many forms. The last two months have been an amalgamation of such forms. Work, emotional, physical. Long story short, ER visit resulted in the news I need to see a neurologist. That appointment won’t be happening until the end of April, that was the earliest I could get an appointment.

Sad story bit, I haven’t been able to write. Feelings stemming from this unfortunate reality, I want to burn some buildings down. Flip some tables!
For those who have been waiting (so incredibly patiently), I’m sorry. This is an issue that I will be resolving by setting time for myself on my weekends. It’s the only time I can do my writing now. This month brings my daughter’s cardiologist appointment, a mentally and emotionally draining experience waiting to see if surgery happens this year, or another year of waiting. It is frustrating having the final story constantly playing around in my head.

Personal goal for myself: get active again with my writing and social media.

Blizzard – New Price & More

This past month has been the longest year of my life. No joke. What the what January 2019?!

First, the exciting news -^_^-! Blizzard eBook is now for sale for $2.99, reduced from the $4.99! WOOO!

The disappointing part of my news: I’ve not written anything this month. Nothing. Hail is in suspension because this month has been tumultuous, to say the least. The good news? Things are getting better, and will continue to! I will MAKE TIME even if I have to bribe my children. It’s going to happen, I can’t help how things are. Anybody else ready for a vacation to a tropical island? I’m there, man! I’m there!

My reading…I’m trying to get better with making time to read because that’s how writers learn and grow as well, outside of writing. Plenty of reading. I have so many books to read…which shouldn’t make me as sad as it does right now :S. Honestly overwhelmed, big changes occurred in January (job role change at work, traveled outside the US for the first time, got food poisoning during it, ended up in urgent care-insanity), and big changes just this upcoming week. How do people function? I have kids, I have a job, I’m starting to lose my grip on sanity, and what I Really would love to do would be to write full-time. I want to write and complete Hail so I can begin my next set of books and plan to get those traditionally published. Jesus help me, I need all the help I can get!

Alright, that’s it for now. Was thinking of doing a special giveaway for a copy of both Snow & Blizzard, or just hosting a giveaway through Amazon for Blizzard…haven’t done that yet. Wish I had more time to be more active with my social media, but I will try to be more consistent with my blogs. I think I need to set some serious, hardcore goals for February regarding word count on Hail. Yeah? Maybe? We shall see…I hope everyone is doing well <3!

Delivered Books

Great news, all the GoodReads winners for the Blizzard paperback giveaway should have received their books! They should have arrived before Christmas, but I guess better late than never? I’m not particularly happy about the delay, but the readers received their prizes! Busy days, rough days. Only 7 days in, and this year has proven tumultuous already.
